• Unique Weapon: Despite the unique coloring, the main difference between the Tony Stark-designed War Machine armor from the Iron Man suit is the amount of ordinance and offensive weaponry attached to it, in deference, perhaps, to Rhodey’s military background.
• Known History: Former military liaison to Stark Industries, Rhodey took over the role of Iron Man for a time while Stark was incapacitated. Stark was so impressed by Rhodey’s service he decided the world would be a better place with two Iron Men; and at that moment War Machine was born. 

Observations: “James Rhodes is a decorated soldier and pilot with a firm grasp of military strategy and rules of engagement. Tony Stark is a spoiled, arrogant playboy with an overactive libido and an even more overactive contempt for chain of command. So my question is: “Why can’t Rhodes just be Iron Man all the time?” — Maria Hill
